03.05.2006 - 3 newbuildings in the first quarter

8204-TEU trio chartered with MSC for 12 years



HAMMONAI Reederei took over three 8204-TEU newbuildings from Hyunday Heavy Industries yard in Ulsan in the first quarter of 2006. All three vessels sail under Liberian flag. MV “HMMONIA JORK” (Building no. 1632) and MV “HAMMONIA HAMBURG” (Building no. 1633) were delivered in January. Both are chartered to the Mediterrranean Shipping Company (Genf) for a period of 12 years under the charter names MSC VALENCIA and MSC PARIS. Furthermore MSC also chartered the third vessel MV “HAMMONIA BREMEN” / MSC BILBAO (Building No. 1634) until the end of 2018. The 89 941-BRZ cargo vessels classified by the Germanischer Lloyd are 334,07 m long, 42,87 m wide and have a side level of 24,50 m to the main deck (60,50m from keel to the top of the antenna). Furthermore they have a maximum draft of 14,50 meter and a loading capacity of approx. 100 800 tons. They could load approx. 6370 TEU á 14 tons and have over 700 reefer plugs, thereof 500 on deck. The main engine Hyundai/MAN B&W Type 12K98MC with a maximum continuous rating of 68 640 kw provides a high cruising speed of 25,60 knots.
