30.05.2008 - New container vessels for HAMMONIA

Two christenings in the first half of 2008
On 20th May 2008 two new vessels for HAMMONIA Reederei where christened at a grand ceremony at the Jiangsu Yangzijiang yard in China. MV “HAMMONIA HOLSATIA” and its sister-vessel MV ”HAMMONIA TEUTONICA” are the seventh and eighth vessels in a range of then structurally identical vessels. “HAMMONIA HOLSATIA” could be chartered to T.S. Lines for a period of 4 years commencing on the 22nd Mai 2008 and will be sub chartered to Hyundai Merchant Marine under the charter name “Hyundai Qingdao”. “HAMMONIA TEUTONICA” will be starting a 5 year charter party with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines under the charter name MOL Serenity. Both vessels are members of the 2.500 TEU PD Pool. Owner of both shipping associations is the HCI HAMMONIA SHIPPING AG, which is listed on the Hamburger Stock Exchange since November 2007. Each sister-vessel has a capacity of 2.546 TEU, is 208,90 m long, 29,80 m wide and has a draft of 11,60m. Cruising speed max. 22,0 knots.
